Maybe a suggestion to the league that this weekend is always left free. This is SOOOOOO much more important than football and our children need to carry this on.

Totally agree - not just in Remembrance for the Wars that our Fathers & Grandfathers fought in, but also for the forgotten War we are fighting on many fronts currently. At the last 2 League meetings I have been to, the cancellation of all fixtures for that weekend has been mooted - happy to raise the issue again at next meeting. One last point, my maternal Grandfather was the most decorated soldier in his regiment, he never spoke about it during his lifetime, but he was firmly of the view that the country shouldn't come to a complete stop on Remembrance Sunday because he said that he fought so that daily life would remain unaffected by the conflict - he prefered a minute of private contemplation for brothers he thought about on a daily basis.
