Training Cancelled - Kinder & U7 - 11th December

Training at Riverside on Saturday 11th December is cancelled. Though the snow is melting, the pitch would cut-up and cause longer term damage........ ..........however, the Christmas Party (Kinder & U7's) is 'full steam ahead' for Sunday 12th December at Manor Farm 2pm-5pm! - See you there - don't forget to bring your £7 if you haven't already paid - no dress code - fancy dress if you like! P.S. - get your dancing trousers on....

Saturday Morning Training (Kinder & U7) 4th Dec

Due to adverse weather conditions (no, really!), Saturday Morning Training at Riverside is cancelled (4th December 2010). Don't forget it's the Christmas Party on Sunday 12th December at Manor Farm 2pm to 5pm. Tickets are £7, including Food, Disco and a bit of Carol Singing.

Under 13's are at Wilberfoss on Sunday 28th November 2pm kick-off, ready to rumble at 1:30pm. The Wilberfoss Manager is Paul Jacques on 07772311202. He thinks the postcode is YO41 5ND - I used it to find this map and it correctly positioned me on Storking Lane in Wilberfoss. I will email you with details of the team - 4 people will be having a week off on 28th.

Don't forget - it's the Christmas Party on Saturday 18th December - 2pm to 5pm - £7 inclusive.

Tadcaster Albion 6 - Pocklington 1 (U13's)

Tadcaster Albion U13's continued in their unbeaten run and moved up to 3rd In The League (with a game in hand) by beating Pocklington 6-1. This was technically a home game, but was played at Pock's ground (Thanks Colin!).
Great team performance, with goals from Charlie, Oli Loggy, and Joel. Man of The Match (for consistently thinking on his feet and improving his performance week on week) was Ollie W.

League Table - U13's - 31st Oct 2010

Epic battle on The Ings today - TAJFC winning 2-1 until the last minute....... - should have won!

Taking into account the amount of players who are out of action through injury, our current position of 4th in the League with 3 games in hand over Aviva and 2 games in hand over Copmanthorpe is very creditable indeed. Obviously the decision we took to play against teams that would push us hard and lift our overall standard of play was the right one......Well Done Lads.

Under 13's are at The Bumper Castle against Rawcliffe Warriors on Sunday 17th October. 2pm kick-off. Ready to rumble at 1:45pm please. Will update you regarding Friday Training and Squad as soon as possible.

Our list of injuries is getting longer with black eyes, broken arms, broken feet and a broken thumb causing us problems. NONE of these injuries were caused when players were playing for Tadcaster Albion.

Pleased to report that the Goalpost Safety Grant has been secured by our Treasurer Nick Brown and the new goalposts (total cost £2,300!) have arrived.

U7's Match Report - Paul Hick

POPPLETON U7’S v TADCASTER ALBIONS U7’S

The first games of the season started with mixed results at Poppleton. Team Yellow got off to a good start with a long range effort from Nathan to make it 1-0. Other than Tom’s effort hitting the post both teams cancelled each other out for the rest of the first half. In the 2nd half Poppleton fought back but great defensive work from Harry and Zeb kept the score at 1-0. A neat passing movement found an un-marked Nathan in the box to score his and Taddy’s second. With time running out Robert made a good tackle in his own half and ran the length of the pitch to cross it to Nathan Heaton to score his hat trick. The game ended 3-0 to Tadcaster. Team Blue must of all been up watching the X Factor til 9 o’clock because they started slowly and found themselves 5-0 down at half time. A few words from the coach (David Broom) at half time saw taddy come out fighting, but good work from Poppleton saw the game end 8-0. Even though 8 was scored against him Charlie played well in goal making 5-6 really good saves as did Luke and Edward in defence. The second round of games a few changes were made to the teams. Team Yellow won their game 2-1 with goals from Dean and Robert. Team Blue drew 1-1 after Poppleton equalised with the last kick of the game. Harry scored Taddy’s goal.

A special thank you to all the player’s mums and dads for braving the weather and helping out on Sunday.

U7's FIRST EVER match!

U7's at Poppleton - 19th September

TAJFC Under 7s are playing their first ever match at Poppleton on Sunday 19th September at 10:30am. Meet at Riverside School at 9:30am so we can check on numbers and sort out kit.

Please note - Paul Hick will have identified the U7's players at today's training session. Younger players will be moving up to this agegroup next year and will be playing in Tournaments later this year. If you have the blue and yellow kit that was handed out a couple of weeks ago, please wear that - I'll bring some spares. Don't forget, boots, shin pads, tracky top and a drink. We'll play 2 matches each finishing at 11:30am.

Tadcaster Albion U13's were back to their winning ways today with a great result 7-2 against Wilberfoss (a team that we couldn't beat last year). Full match report to follow - 3 goals from Hazz, 2 from Charlie. Apologies to anyone (players or parents) who I deafened today.....; however, a touch of the "Fergie" sometimes works wonders.
