Tad Albion U10s 'v' Easingwold (6th September)

'A' Team Match Reports

Tadcaster Albion 3 – 0 Easingwold
Squad: Alfie, Ethan, George, Jack, James, Scott, Tom
Scorers: Jack (2), Tom

Tadcaster Albion kicked off their season with a home game against newly promoted Easingwold, hoping to transfer some promising pre-season training form into their first league match.

An entertaining start to the game saw some good football from both sides. Tadcaster were as solid as ever in defense and midfeld, but their attacking play was almost unrecognisable from the previous season when confidence and goals dried up completely. With a brisk wind at their backs, Taddy started to get the upper hand; showing some real quality passing and movement going forward. Several half chances went begging before Jack eventually got the break through from close range to send the home team into the break with the lead they deserved.

The first half was good, but the second half was even better. Tadcaster looked very sharp and when they moved the ball about it was just too much for the opposition. Tom rifled in a fantastic free kick to double the lead and Jack rounded things off.

This was a great display and a wonderful way to start the season. It was a joy to see the confidence building within the team as the match developed and especially towards the end when, to be honest, Easingwold were run ragged.
Man of the Match: Tom - For a tireless display and a cracking free kick.

2nd Game report
Tadcaster Albion 4 – 1 Easingwold
Squad: Alfie, Ethan, George, Jack, James, Scott, Tom
Scorers: Alfie (2), James, Scott

Despite numerous positional changes, the team carried on from where they left off in the first game. If anything they dominated this match even more, but to be fair to Easingwold, they will be a much tougher proposition once they get used to the pace of division 1 football.
Once again the dubious goals committee was called upon to decide the scorer of the first goal. After much pressure and a little bit of bribery, James was indeed credited with the opener. He then turned provider as he laid the ball off for Scott to smash in number two. Easingwold got a deserved goal back early in the second half, but Taddy soon restored their advantage through Alfie. Scoring was completed with the goal of the game when a flowing move starting from inside Taddy’s own half was rounded off in style as Aflie hammered the ball into the roof of the net.
Man of the Match: James – Scored the first, set up the second, then played great in defence.
