The general performance of the teams this season has been outstanding; The ‘A’ Team are still unbeaten in the Mitchell Soccer League. Midfielder Joel is the ‘A’ Team top scorer and all of our Goalkeepers (‘A’ & ‘B’ Teams) are having an exceptional season; Well done to Jai, John and George. Under 8's Match Report 9/12/2007 (Bishopthorpe) by Stephen King

U8’s Tadcaster Riverside Albion ‘v’ Bishopthorpe

9th December 2007.

Yellow Team Match Report

1st Game
Tadcaster Albion 2 – 0 Bishopthorpe
Goal Scorers: James, Louis

2nd Game
Tadcaster Albion 6 – 3 Bishopthorpe
Alfie (4), James (2)

1st Game report
Tadcaster lined up for the first game with Alfie in goal; Daniel and Emily in defence; Harry, Joseph and Louis in midfield; James up front.
Once again Tadcaster got off to a flying start with an early goal from James, but despite being well on top for most of the first half, the team didn’t really click. There were some good individual performances; particularly from Louis who did all of the hard work in midfield, but some of the good passing we’ve seen in previous weeks just wasn’t there. Half Time: score Tadcaster 1, Bishopthorpe 0.
Megan replaced Emily for the second half, with Joseph dropping back into defence and Harry being pushed up front. Harry looked much happier playing as a striker and he started to cause the Bishopthorpe defence a lot of problems with his pace and ability to beat players. Bishopthorpe came close to equalising, but a great save from Alfie kept Tadcaster’s in front. Finally with almost the last play of the match, Harry broke up field, beat the defenders and passed the ball to Louis for a simple tap in. Final score: Tadcaster 2, Bishopthorpe 0.

2nd Game report
The line up for the second game was Megan in goal, Emily and Joseph in defence; James, Louis and harry in midfield; Alfie up front.
What a game! End to end play saw Tadcaster score first – Alfie tapping in following great work from Harry. Bishopthorpe equalised with a screamer and were then awarded a penalty! Megan pulled off a great save only to see the penalty taker react first and put in the rebound. James got the home side level just before half time with another great strike. Half Time score: Tadcaster 2, Bishopthorpe 2.
Daniel replaced Joseph for the second half and the goal kept coming. First an unlucky Tadcaster own goal put the away side in front, before goals two goals from Alfie one from James and finally another for Alfie capped a great fight back. Final score: Tadcaster 6, Woodthorpe 3.

Man of the Match: Alfie – A clean sheet in goal for the first game; four goals up front in the second – and all on his birthday. Well done Alfie !

Under 8's Match Report 25/11/2007 (Woodthorpe) by Stephen King

U8’s Tadcaster Riverside Albion ‘v’ Woodthorpe

25th November 2007.

Blue Team Match Report

1st Game
Tadcaster Albion 1 – 0 Woodthorpe
Goal Scorers: Ethan

2nd Game
Tadcaster Albion 0 – 0 Woodthorpe

1st Game report
Tadcaster lined up for the first game with Saul in goal; Charlie and Justin in defence; Ethan, Adam and Declan midfield; Edan up front.
In what turned out to be a very even contest, an under strength Tadcaster team started out well, looking to attack at every opportunity. Ethan was very much the driving force in midfield, whilst Edan, who was asked to play up front rather in his normal midfield role, chased everything. With Charlie and Justin providing a solid platform at the back – to such an extent that Saul hardly had a save to make – it was just a case of whether or not Tadcaster could create an opening to get the goal they deserved. The ball never quite ran for Tadcaster though as the first half ended goal-less. Half Time: score Tadcaster 0, Woodthorpe 0.
Lewis replaced Declan for the second half. Again, Tadcaster never looked like they would lose the game, thanks in the main to a fantastic display of defending from Charlie. Midway through the half, Ethan finally broke clear, supported by Edan. The two Taddy danger men looked for a minute as if they would get in each other’s way, but to the crowd’s delight, Ethan tucked the ball into the bottom corner. That turned out to be the winner Tadcaster deserved. Final score: Tadcaster 1, Woodthorpe 0.

2nd Game report
The line up for the second game was Saul in goal, Charlie and Lewis in defence; Ethan, Justin and Declan in midfield; Edan up front.
The second game followed the pattern of the first game – Tadcaster rock solid at the back, but struggling to create clear cut chances. The best chance of the first half fell to Ethan whose shot looked goal bound until the Woodthorpe ‘keeper pulled off a great save. Half Time score: Tadcaster 0, Woodthorpe 0.
Adam replaced Edan for the second half. More frustration for Tadcaster, as they couldn’t quite finish off Woodthorpe. The ball just wouldn’t run for Tadcaster and on another day both Ethan and Edan would have been on the score sheet. Final score: Tadcaster 0, Woodthorpe 0.

Man of the Match: Charlie – Tackled and cleared everything Woodthorpe had to offer. Awesome ! Well done Charlie !

Tadcaster Riverside Albion FC was formed in 2005 by the amalgamation of Riverside JFC and Tadcaster Albion JFC.Riverside JFC was formed in 2001 by Mick Clow and Mark Mottershead both of whom had sons playing for the club. Riverside JFC was the first club in Tadcaster to gain the Chartered Standard Club award, this was achieved within the first 12 months of the clubs establishment.
