The team for this tournament was, Ross, Jacob, Jack, Jamie, Cavan, Harry, Austin and Tom W.
This was my first tournament in charge of the A Team, so i do not know who was more nervous, me or the boys, after winning the first group game against Garforth villa 1-0, goal scored by Austin, all nerves seemed to dissapear, this was followed up with a 4-0 thumping of ulleskelf,goals by Cavan, and a hat trick from Austin,although we lost our last two games 2-0 and 1-0, we still qualified for the quarter final in 3rd place,
In the quarter final we drew our B team, this proved to be a hard fought game as we knew it would be, Liz fired up her team, and they came at us from the first whistle, sam made some quite amazing saves in goal, scott was solid in defence, owen and hannahheld the midfield and taylor quick up front, the match was settled in the second half by a Jamie piledriver which not even petr cech could have saved, result 1-0 to Tad A.
The semi final proved to be a little easier, against Garforth villa for the second time we won 2-0, both goals scored by Austin.
The final proved to be one game too many for my boys,they came up against Thorpe United who proved to be slightly less tired than us, although we fought all the way, because of the hard games previously,the boys just could not muster the strenth to overcome Thorpe, final result 3-1 to Thorpe.
I thought everyone of the guys played well, and i am very proud of each and everyone of them , well done guys.
